Eight ²×ÖÝÖÐѧŮ½Ìʦ³ö¹ì Students Advance to National BPA Conference


Eight ²×ÖÝÖÐѧŮ½Ìʦ³ö¹ì students earned high honors during the Business Professionals of America (BPA) State Leadership Conference at Davenport University in Grand Rapids.

Connor Clark, of Greenville, earned first place in Intermediate Word Processing and second place in Advanced Office Systems and Procedures; Noelle Kyes, of Belding, earned first place in Presentation-Team; Kyleigh Mills, of Greenville, earned first place in Presentation-Team; Lindsey Olger, of Sheridan, earned first place in Presentation-Individual; Claire Scott, of Greenville, earned first place in Presentation-Team and first place in Payroll Accounting; Emily Throop, of Stanton, earned first place in Financial Math & Analysis Concepts, second place in Administrative Support Concepts, second place in College Accounting, second place in Interview Skills and third place in Management, Marketing, and Human Resources Concepts; and Sawyer Bowers, of Greenville, earned third place in Personal Financial Management.

Mary McQuarrie of Ionia and Olger submitted entries in the BPA Promotional Photography national competition. Both students’ entries have made it through the technical judging round and have advanced to the presentation round.

²×ÖÝÖÐѧŮ½Ìʦ³ö¹ì’s Computer Information Systems (CIS) Lab Coordinator Kristen Diehl and Business Instructor Bill Bishop, who serve as BPA Club advisors, accompanied the students to the competition.

All of the students listed above have qualified to compete in the National Leadership Conference in April.

BPA is the leading Career and Technical Student Organization for students pursuing careers in business management, office administration, information technology and other related career fields.
